The ruling on a cow born from the semen of an American stud bull
Question
Question: A stud bull has been brought from America which impregnates cows, and this bull was itself born from the semen of a bull and a pig. Its distinctive feature is that the offspring born from it, when grown, gives up to forty seers (seer: a unit of weight, ≈ 0.93 kg) of milk. This milk is sold in the market, and likewise sweets made from this milk, thickened by boiling, are sold. What needs to be asked is: is it permissible to consume this milk or not? Is it right to eat sweets prepared from its milk or not?
Answer
It is permissible to use the milk of a cow that has conceived from it; however, as far as possible, cows should not be bred with it. Also find out whether that bull was born from a cow or from a female pig — then there will be further clarity.
