A wealthy person partaking of niyaz food
Question
Question: In these parts and the surrounding areas there is a custom: under the name of “niyaz” (a votive food offering) or “in Allah's name”, in most villages people collect grain and the like and, in the form of a communal meal, eat it — rich and poor alike. Is it permissible for well-to-do people to take part in such things?
