Tinned meat

Question

Question: In Abu Dhabi, meat and chicken come from European countries, and there is doubt as to whether they are halal or haram. The question is: is it permissible or impermissible to eat meat and chicken of this kind?

Answer

One should refrain from such meat and chicken whose being halal is in doubt: [ar]«دَعْ مَا يَرِيبُكَ إِلَى مَا لَا يَرِيبُكَ» الحديث[/ar] “Leave what makes you doubt for what does not make you doubt” (hadith).
