Does Not Making a Ta‘ziya Entail Denial of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ?

Question

(1) The people of the village say that whoever does not make a ta‘ziya (a model of the tomb of Husayn ﵁ carried in Muharram processions) and does not acknowledge it does not acknowledge the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. Does not making a ta‘ziya really entail denial of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ? (2) What course should we adopt in such circumstances?

Answer

(1) These people speak falsely; it is Satan who has taught them this. (2) Pay no heed to them and remain firm upon the truth. However, do keep striving for the reformation of these people: arrange sermons by the scholars of the religion, explain matters to them individually, and take them to the sermons of the people of truth in other places.
