Taking Part in a Ta‘ziya Procession

Question

Is it permissible to join a ta‘ziya procession (with a model of Imam Husayn’s ﵁ tomb, carried in Muharram processions), to listen to the band and to make offerings, or not?

Answer

It is absolutely impermissible; it is close to shirk.
