Conveying Reward to a Shi‘i

Question

What is the ruling on a Sunni wife praying for forgiveness for her Shi‘i husband or conveying reward (isal al-thawab) to him? And in general, what is the ruling on a Sunni conveying reward to a Shi‘i?

Answer

If his beliefs are not beliefs of kufr, such as some sects hold, then praying for his forgiveness is correct. In this respect a husband and anyone else are all alike.
