The imam owes the mosque: how to recover it
Question
Question: In a certain place an imam lived in the mosque, and the respected imam received a seasonal payment from the harvest, from which his expenses were met. When harvest time came, that is, reaping began, an accusation was raised against the respected imam; God knows best whether that accusation is true or false. In any case, the respected imam, being arrested on that accusation, went away, leaving the whole harvest-share payment.
Answer
The respected imam’s answer is correct; it should be acted upon accordingly. There is no right whatsoever to let go of (forgive) the mosque’s money.
