Taking a loan and letting out a house

Question

Question: A man said to his tenant: “Give me five thousand rupees; until I repay your money, I shall not take the rent of the house from you.” Is this permissible or not?

Answer

Taking a loan of five thousand rupees on the condition that until it is repaid the rent of the shop or house will not be taken is interest (riba), which is impermissible.
