Selling milk mixed with water while disclosing it
Question
A person sells milk and says, “I have mixed water into it,” but does not state the quantity. Is such an act permissible, given that Hindu shopkeepers sell it only after mixing water?
Answer
When he discloses the mixing of water, he is not deceiving; the buyer has the choice to buy or not to buy. However, in selling without watering it there is great good and baraka, of which those who mix water are deprived.
