No option of defect after two years
Question
I bought a machine from a merchant. At the time of purchase his condition was: “If this machine breaks down within a year, we are responsible for it.” A few months after that it stopped working. We informed him; he came, repaired it as he understood best and went away, but even then it could not work. In this way it kept malfunctioning for two years. Then, after two years, I brought the machine to Kanpur to return it to the merchant. When I said I was returning it, he said: “We will repair it.
Answer
Since, when it broke down after four or five months, you did not return it, nor did you take back any part of the price or the loss, you now, after two years, have no right to claim it.
