Selling goods obtained by begging
Question
People who ask, that is, who beg, sell this grain at shops. Is it valid for the shopkeeper to buy this grain or not?
Answer
Whatever grain someone has collected by begging has become his property; when he takes it to a shop and sells it, it is valid for the shopkeeper to buy it. Caution (tanbih): it is not permissible for one who has food for one day to beg; therefore it is necessary to give up this occupation.
