Shaking Hands with the Imam After the Prayer

Question

How far is it correct that, when the prayer is over, people stand up and shake hands with the imam?

Answer

‘Allama Shami has written that this is an ugly bid‘a (bid‘a qabiha), because it is not established from the generations whose goodness is attested (al-qurun al-mashhud laha bi-l-khayr), and it is a distinguishing mark (shi‘ar) of the Rawafid.
