Making Loud Dhikr Binding after Every Prayer

Question

After the fard prayer the whole congregation together, joining their voices as one, says “La ilaha illa Allah” three times in a loud voice, and then “Muhammadur rasulullah”, even though the masbuqs (latecomers) and other worshippers are [still] praying and their prayer is being disturbed. The custom here is to regard this as necessary and to consider anyone who does not recite it as very bad and worthy of reproach. What is the ruling on this?

Answer

The dhikr of the noble kalima is a most blessed thing, but it should be done in such a way that no worshipper’s prayer is disturbed by it; otherwise doing it aloud will be prohibited — so it is stated in “Sibahat al-Fikr fi al-Jahr bi al-Dhikr”.
