Associating with an Innovator
Question
If a person is devout, regular in fasting and prayer, but steeped in bid‘as (innovations in religion), what is the ruling on eating at his place and keeping company with him?
Answer
If, through keeping company with him and eating and drinking with him, there is hope of his reform, then keeping company is better; but if there is fear that one may thereby fall into bid‘as oneself, or that it may amount to endorsing bid‘as, then one should not keep company with him.
