Holding the Belief That the Prophet ﷺ Is Hadir wa Nazir
Question
In Surah al-Hujurat Allah the Exalted taught the etiquette due to the Noble Prophet ﷺ: do not call him from outside the wall, do not raise your voices in greeting him or speaking to him; when he comes out, then greet him and speak to him — and so on. All this was stated for the worldly life — and does the same ruling apply now as well? For in the Mawlid they recite the salam loudly, and from hundreds of miles away — what is the ruling?
Answer
All this etiquette is for ever. The Noble Prophet ﷺ said in a noble hadith: “Whoever comes to my grave and sends salat and salam upon me, I hear him; and what is recited from afar is conveyed to me through the angels.” Reciting with a raised voice and holding the belief that the Prophet ﷺ himself is present and watching (hadir wa nazir)
