The Human Nature of the Prophet ﷺ

Question

What is the occasion of revelation (sha’n al-nuzul) of the following verses: [ar]قُلْ إِنَّمَآ أَنَا۠ بَشَرٌ مِّثْلُكُمْ يُوحَىٰٓ إِلَىَّ[/ar] “Say: I am only a human being like you; it is revealed to me” (Surah al-Kahf, 18:110)?

The deniers used to say: how can one who is a human being (bashar) be a messenger? For a human being is subject to natural needs, whereas a messenger ought to be free of them.
