Ascribing a Partner to Allah in His Exclusive Attributes

Question

The Creator, by virtue of His exclusive attribute, is the Absolutely Powerful (Qadir Mutlaq) and also unique; His being within the creation is impossible. Is likening Him to a contingent (mumkin) and breathing being a blemish upon tawhid, or not?

Answer

To associate any creature with the Absolutely Powerful — jalla sha’nuhu — in His exclusive attributes is wrong; it is shirk in the Attributes (shirk fi al-sifat); it is to cast a blemish upon His tawhid — may Allah protect us.
