Vow food given to a wealthy person’s child
Question
Question: People who make a vow and hold a niyaz (distribution of food), or who, without a vow, simply feed children some food — among them there are also children of people who possess the nisab. Is it permissible for them to eat any of it or not?
Answer
Vow food is the right of the poor; it is not for the wealthy or the children of the wealthy. If, without a vow, one simply gives food out of joy and for reward (thawab), then this is proper for everyone.
