Vowing a goat’s kid and giving its price
Question
Question: A person made this vow: “When this goat gives birth to a kid, I will give the first kid to the mosque.” Now one kid has been born. What should he do with it? Is it sufficient to sell it and give its price away as charity or not? And also: is a vow in the name of the mosque valid or not?
Answer
Since he vowed (nadhr) to give it to the mosque, he should sell this kid of the goat and give the money — the price — to the mosque.
