Description

Vitamin B5 — calcium D-pantothenate by chemical synthesis: isobutyraldehyde, formaldehyde, hydrocyanic acid → pantolactone; the D-form is separated with a fungal or GM bacterial enzyme (patent media with peptone, glycerol, sometimes meat extract; carrier incl. gelatin) or chiral amines; then β-alanine, mainly in methanol. Panthenol — from pantolactone and 3-aminopropanol. Finished forms: gelatin (incl. porcine)
