Vitamin B9 — folic acid by chemical synthesis: monosodium L-glutamate + p-nitrobenzoyl chloride → p-aminobenzoylglutamic acid; condensation with triaminopyrimidine and trichloroacetone; purification with activated carbon; production mainly in China. Methylfolates are made from folic acid; the glucosamine of the salt is fungal per EFSA 2013, according to the applicant. Finished forms: gelatin (incl. porcine)
