Inositol (myo-inositol) is obtained mainly by hydrolysis of phytin from corn steep liquor or rice bran; Japanese norms also allow isolation from sugar beet syrup or molasses. The raw material is of plant origin. Enzymatic production from starch and glucose also operates (China). Doubts: the activated carbon type is not named; ethanol — washing in the route with a glycerin catalyst (industrial per Baidu Baike)
