الْحَلَالُ بَيِّنٌ وَالْحَرَامُ بَيِّنٌ، وَبَيْنَهُمَا مُشَبَّهَاتٌ لَا يَعْلَمُهَا كَثِيرٌ مِنَ النَّاسِ، فَمَنِ اتَّقَى الْمُشَبَّهَاتِ اسْتَبْرَأَ لِدِينِهِ وَعِرْضِهِ

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “The lawful is clear and the unlawful is clear, and between them are doubtful matters that many people do not know. Whoever guards against the doubtful matters protects his religion and his honor.”

Description

Hydrogenated poly-1-decene is a synthetic glazing agent: a mixture of C30–C60 isoparaffins, fully hydrogenated trimers to hexamers of 1-decene. Per EFSA and SCF the 1-decene is made from ethylene (oil, gas); per EFSA and JECFA oligomerisation and hydrogenation run over a catalyst (Neste — BF3 with an unnamed protic co-catalyst; in the patents — BF3 with alcohol and other co-catalysts, nickel)
