Surah Al-Qalam (القلم)

• 68:1

  نٓ ۚ وَٱلْقَلَمِ وَمَا يَسْطُرُونَ

  Noon. (Only Allaah knows the correct meaning of this letter.) By the oath of the pen (that recorded the destiny of creation on the “Lowhul Mahfoodh") and by (the oath of) what they (the angels who record the actions of people) write!

• 68:2

  مَآ أَنتَ بِنِعْمَةِ رَبِّكَ بِمَجْنُونٍ

  By the grace of your Rabb, you (O Rasulullaah ﷺ) are certainly not insane (as the Mushrikeen maliciously claim).

• 68:3

  وَإِنَّ لَكَ لَأَجْرًا غَيْرَ مَمْنُونٍ

  Indeed, (because of your tireless efforts to propagate Islaam) you shall have a reward that never comes to an end (so do not be grieved by the taunts of the Mushrikeen).

• 68:4

  وَإِنَّكَ لَعَلَىٰ خُلُقٍ عَظِيمٍ

  Verily, you are (firmly stationed) upon an exalted (flawless) character (which no insane person can possess).

• 68:5

  فَسَتُبْصِرُ وَيُبْصِرُونَ

  Soon (when the Mushrikeen suffer the consequences of their Shirk) you shall see and they will also see...

• 68:6

  بِأَييِّكُمُ ٱلْمَفْتُونُ

  ...who of you is insane (they will then realise that they were insane not to accept your message).

• 68:7

  إِنَّ رَبَّكَ هُوَ أَعْلَمُ بِمَن ضَلَّ عَن سَبِيلِهِۦ وَهُوَ أَعْلَمُ بِٱلْمُهْتَدِينَ

  Indeed only your Rabb knows best who deviates (gone astray) from His path and only He knows those who are rightly guided (and He will reward and punish people accordingly).
