Zakat for an Owner of Land
Question
A person who is not the owner of the zakat nisab and is in debt, but has lands and growing wealth in the form of animals; those animals do not reach the nisab, but their value equals the silver nisab. Likewise, the crop yield of his agricultural lands is not sufficient for him, but if the value of those lands were assessed, it would be many times more than the silver nisab. May that person take zakat, or sadaqat al-fitr, or the hides of sacrificial animals, or not?
Answer
It is proper for both of these persons to take sadaqat al-fitr and the price of the hides of sacrificial animals.
