The ruling on zakat lost while with the rector of the madrasa
Question
If the zakat money perishes while with the rector of a madrasa or his deputy through some sudden accident or for some other reason, will compensation (daman) become wajib? And will the zakat be discharged or not? If, supposing the zakat was not discharged and compensation became wajib, paying the compensation is beyond the rector's means, what way could there be of making it good?
Answer
If this happens despite safekeeping and full effort and proper arrangements, compensation is not binding.
