Three Lorries Bought from the Income of One — No Zakat

Question

Zayd owns a motor lorry that runs on hire. From the income of this lorry he bought three or four lorries over the course of the year. At the end of the year no cash from his earnings remained with him. Will zakat be wajib on all these lorries at the end of the year?

Answer

Those lorries are for running on hire, not for trade; zakat is not wajib on them.
