Collecting Donations for a Mosque by Force

Question

What is the ruling on collecting impermissible donations for a mosque by compelling a person and putting pressure on him? Kindly give an answer to the bearer of this note and oblige us; and write the answer separately and clearly, that is, in detail.

Answer

Doing so is by no means permissible. If this has been done, returning these donations is necessary; spending them on the mosque or the like is forbidden.
