Building a Mosque with Concrete

Question

Some people say that strengthening a mosque by pouring concrete is a bid‘a (innovation in religion), while others say it is not a bid‘a and that concrete is present in the Prophet’s ﷺ Mosque?

Answer

Yes, in the Prophet’s ﷺ Mosque too there was gravel, and there still is in some part; in the Sacred Mosque (Makka the Revered) too there was gravel in places. Now in the two Noble Sanctuaries (may Allah increase them in honour and dignity)
