Taking Part of a Road into the Mosque Without Everyone’s Consent
Question
Near the mosque is a public road running from west to east. They want to take part of this road into the mosque. What is the ruling if not everyone gives permission, but only some do?
Answer
If the road is wide and taking part of it into the mosque will cause no narrowness, then after consultation they may take into the mosque as much as is needed: it is permitted by the Sharia, and everyone should be content with it. They should not take so much space that the road becomes narrow.
