Incorporating graves into the mosque

Question

The courtyard of a mosque is small, and on the east side there are graves. Can these graves be levelled and included in the mosque so that more people can come? And what is the way of levelling them? Some of the graves are brick-built and some are earthen.

Answer

Is the land of the graves owned or waqf? And are these graves new, or old such that the deceased have completely turned to dust? If the land is owned and the graves are very old, then including it in the mosque with the owner’s permission is correct.
