What Should Be Done If Building a Mihrab Threatens the Collapse of the Mosque?
Question
If, because a mosque has been enlarged, the mihrab no longer remains in the middle, and there is a fear that the mosque will collapse if the wall is broken to build the mihrab in the middle, what is the ruling?
Answer
If building the mihrab in the middle by breaking the wall is difficult because of the danger of the mosque collapsing, then, without building a mihrab, the imam should simply stand in the middle in such a way that those following him are equal on both sides.
