Masjid dirar (the mosque of harm)

Question

For about a hundred years teaching and instruction have been going on in a Congregational Mosque (congregational mosque), and the ‘alim (scholar) who is employed for this teaching and instruction is also responsible for leading the five daily prayers, the two ‘Id prayers, the funeral prayer and the Friday prayer. There are two ‘alims in this village; whenever these two ‘alims were also giving teaching and instruction, the above-mentioned duty rested on both of them as well.

Answer

A mosque that was built with a good intention, and in which for a long time everyone, in agreement, performed the prayer correctly — if now for some reason matters have come to disagreement and dispute, this old mosque will not be called a masjid dirar, and praying in it will not be called impermissible. Let them end the disagreement and dispute and perform the prayer in it.
