The ruling on an old mosque and its waqf after a new mosque is built

Question

(1) In our village there was a mosque in which prayer and the like were held regularly for twenty years. After that the mosque was moved to another place in the same village, and that place was left — useless; the distance was one house, and it was also close to falling into ruin. At present the relocated mosque — a house in which a garden is planted — exists, and the place from which it was moved lies desolate; now prayer and the like are held in it. What is the ruling on this? (2)

Answer

(1–2) It is not permissible to move a mosque and take it to another place. If the first mosque becomes deserted and safeguarding its belongings becomes difficult, then, for fear of their going to waste, it is permissible to move its belongings and use them in the nearest other mosque.
