Turning an ‘Ashura-khana into a mosque
Question
A Hindu asked the Muslims for their votes for membership (in an elected body) and in return had an ‘Ashura-khana (a hall for the mourning gatherings of ‘Ashura) built. Now a mosque is needed in the village — can this ‘Ashura-khana be made into a mosque or not?
Answer
If a mosque is needed there, then making this ‘Ashura-khana into a mosque after mutual consultation is valid.
