Building a second mosque because of a difference in school of thought
Question
The Barelvi gentlemen revile the Deobandis, and they also revile the senior ‘ulama’ of Deoband; praying in the mosque carries a serious danger of a quarrel. In this situation, can we build another mosque? The Deobandis have even already designated a place for the mosque.
Answer
If another mosque is also needed, and in it there will also be safety from quarrelling, then building another mosque is valid; indeed, it is in keeping with the common good (maslaha).
