Changing items endowed for a mosque
Question
Question: May things endowed as waqf for a mosque be exchanged and altered for the benefit of the mosque, or not?
Answer
Things that have become waqf according to the Shari‘a may not be sold; yes, if it entirely — selling is not correct (?). Yes, if it has become entirely unusable, then in such a case it should be sold, and with its price a similar serviceable thing should be bought for the mosque and made a waqf.
