A town-dweller’s sacrifice performed in a village
Question
If a man living in a town sends his sacrificial animal to the countryside, and it is sacrificed there while he himself is in the town, will his sacrifice be valid or not?
Answer
His sacrifice will be valid; his being present with the sacrificial animal is not necessary. Moreover, if the sacrifice is performed on behalf of such a person in the countryside early in the morning, when the Eid prayer has not yet even taken place in the town, that too is correct (al-Zayla‘i, vol. 6, p. 4).
