Sacrificing the foetus of the sacrificial animal
Question
Question: Zayd sacrificed a cow; when its belly was cut open, a calf also came out, since the cow was pregnant, and the calf came out alive. What should now be done with it: should it also be sacrificed, or should it be reared?
Answer
It too should be sacrificed, and whatever disposal is made of the meat of the original sacrifice, the same should be done with the meat of its young. (“Shami”, vol. 5, p. 205.)
