Will the World End in the 14th Hijri Century?

Question

The year 1391 AH is currently underway, and only 9 years remain until the completion of the fourteenth [hijri] century. Are there any sayings of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ indicating whether the life of this world continues after the fourteenth century or not? Some non-Muslims say that after Kali Yuga (in Hinduism, the present and last of four world ages) there comes another era, Satya Yuga (in Hinduism, the first, “golden” age of the world). To what extent is this correct?

Answer

Concerning whether this world will remain or come to an end, I have not seen any mention of the fourteenth century in any hadith or verse. It cannot be inferred from the great signs of the Hour mentioned in the hadiths that the world will end with the fourteenth century: the appearance of Hazrat Mahdi ﵇, the descent of Hazrat ‘Isa ﵇, the rising of the sun from the west, and so…
