The Lineage of the Shaykhs, Mughals, and Pathans

Question

Is it true that the lineage of the Shaykhs derives from Hazrat ‘Umar ﵁, and the lineage of the Mughals and Pathans derives from the Jews and Christians?

Answer

The Siddiqi Shaykhs call themselves descendants of Hazrat Abu Bakr al-Siddiq ﵁, and the Farooqi Shaykhs call themselves descendants of Hazrat ‘Umar al-Farooq ﵁. As for the Mughals and Pathans, I do not know about that.
