Sayyid Qutb and the Muslim Brotherhood

Question

What is your opinion of al-Ikhwan al-Muslimun (the Muslim Brotherhood) and of Sayyid Qutb, the martyr (shahid)?

Answer

Al-Ikhwan al-Muslimun and Sayyid Qutb, the martyr, took a step toward reform, but the government of that time did not tolerate it. I am not acquainted with the detailed program of this reform well enough to be able to write to what extent it accorded with the Book and the Sunna.
