Whose Is the Girl Born to a Pregnant Woman Who Ran Away?

Question: A woman left her living husband and ran away with another man. At the time the woman ran away she was pregnant, and two or three months after running away a girl was born. After that her husband pronounced talaq on her. Now the question is: will the girl be regarded as the husband’s, or is she the child of the man with whom the woman ran away?

Answer

In such a case the girl will be regarded as the first husband’s.
