The Pregnancy “Dried Up” and the Child Was Born a Year and a Half Later
Question
Question: Hinda is the mother of three children. For one year her husband stayed abroad; then the husband took Hinda with him, but after five months a girl was born to Hinda. Is this girl legitimate or illegitimate? Hinda says: “Because of illness my pregnancy dried up, and that is why the girl was born late” — that is, this girl was born after one year and five months. The husband also confirms this. The question is whether this girl is legitimate or illegitimate.
Answer
In these circumstances this girl will not be called illegitimate; she belongs to her father.
