A widow wearing jewellery

Question

Question: What is the ruling on a widow wearing glass bangles and silver and gold bangles? Among us there is a custom that a widow cannot wear glass bangles. Also, what is the ruling on women wearing jewellery made of other materials besides silver and gold jewellery?

Answer

After the ‘idda, jewellery, glass bangles and the like are all permissible for a widow. All jewellery in which there is no resemblance to unbelievers (kuffar) and the sinful (fussaq) is permissible for women.
