What Is Irrevocable (Ba’in) Talaq?
Question
What kind of talaq is the irrevocable (ba’in) talaq?
Answer
Irrevocable (ba’in) talaq is that after which the right of taking back (ruju‘) does not remain. It is further of two kinds: (1) light (mukhaffafa), (2) major (mughallaza). In the first, renewal of the nikah suffices to re-establish the marital bond, and there is no need for halala; by “ba’in talaq” usually this kind is meant.
