Permission for Intercourse When Water Is Harmful

Question

[ar]إذا كان أحد الزوجين مريضًا بحيث يضره الماء، باردًا كان أو حارًّا، هل يجوز أن يجامع أم لا؟[/ar] “If one of the spouses is ill such that water harms him, whether cold or hot, is it permissible for him to have intercourse or not?”

Answer

[ar]نعم، يجوز له الجماع بزوجة وإن كان يضره الماء، وإذا لم يقدر على الغسل لمرض فعليه أن يتيمم، كذا في شرح المنية[/ar] “Yes, intercourse with his wife is permissible for him even if water harms him; and if he is unable to perform ghusl because of illness, he must perform tayammum. So it is in Sharh al-Munya.”
