Is the Blood after a Miscarriage Hayd or Not?
Question
A woman had a miscarriage. The opinion of the physicians and the midwife is that part [of the foetus] has been miscarried and part remains, and up to now the physicians say that she is pregnant. If in such a situation the woman bleeds, will this blood be counted as hayd or not?
Answer
If she is pregnant, then the blood that comes in the state of pregnancy is not hayd. If the miscarriage has taken place and there is now no pregnancy, and the formation of the miscarried foetus (saqt) has not become apparent, and blood came with the miscarriage for at least three days, and before it there was a complete period of purity (tuhr tamm)
