Lying Beside a Wife in Hayd

Question

May a man sleep beside his wife while she is in the state of hayd and nifas, or not?

Answer

He may. [ar]يجوز مباشرة الحائض فوق الإزار وإن لزم منه التلطخ بالدم[/ar] “Mubashara (bodily contact) with a woman in hayd above the izar is permissible, even if being smeared with blood results from it” (Shami, vol. 1, p. 107).
