Intimacy with a Wife in Hayd in Case of Need, and Istimna' under Overwhelming Desire

Question

If there is a severe need for intercourse and the wife is in hayd, is it permissible or impermissible to emit semen (mani) by rubbing on the buttocks or over the place of the anus (dubur)? While [the man] has complete confidence in himself that he will not enter the private place; or is there some [other] way? (2)

Answer

This form is impermissible. However, if by placing [the organ] on the shin, belly or hand and ejaculating he attains relief and is saved from sin, then it is permissible. (2) If there is a predominant presumption (zann ghalib) that without it he will fall into zina (fornication), then if he does so to protect himself from zina, it is hoped that there will be no punishment.
